Do something, take action! Every action will produce a result, whether you label that result as good or bad. In general, the results that you desire and expect will be deemed as good. There is no point in flogging a dead horse. If the results that you create are not what you want, then do again and change something. Here 4 steps how to get into ACTION:

1. Ideas in the bin
Unless each idea is explored, even briefly, the great concepts that can change your life for the better may be consigned to the waste bin along with the non-starters. The difference between taking a good idea and running with it can be described in one word – Action!

2. The Investment
Taking action has a price that is measured in time and energy. If you have a full and active life you will have to budget for these. If you have an empty or passive life, using your time and energy can offer you fullness and fulfillment. However, your action must be on purpose!

3. Practical
Your ideas are ephemeral. This simply means that you cannot touch them, put them in a briefcase or pay them into your bank. To add substance and value they must be written down. Your first practical task is to carry a notebook and always have a pad and pen in each room of your home. The moment that you get an idea, write down a couple of key words that will remind you of it later.

Select a regular time where you will not be disturbed and review your key words. Many ideas may seem impractical at first sight but don’t discard them. Just file your first notes away until the time is more appropriate for you to revisit them with new perspectives.

4. How to get into Action
Decide what, where, when and how you will take that first positive action. Decide what resources you need to take with you. Do not put it off until another day or until conditions are perfect. Just do it. You will feel good as soon as you have made these decisions.

You will feel even better when you take the resultant action. You will feel better still when you remind yourself that the first step is always the hardest and that the next ones become progressively easier.

A book is written one word at a time. A film is made a few scenes at a time. In both instances, someone had to act to breathe life into an idea. So define your idea or objective in writing.
