Hypnosis and Magic

Hypnosis will likely remain something of a mystery for some time to come. Science has yet been unable to fully explain how it actually happens, and people have been wondering about and amazed by it for over 200 years. It is a trance state characterized by extreme suggestibility, relaxation and heightened imagination. To bring you into this state, a hypnotist will have to make you focus on his voice or an object as the hypnotist talks to you.
Scientifically, there are three different kinds of hypnosis, that is suggestion, regression and analytical. In 1958, both the American Medical Association and the American Psychological Association recognized the therapy as a valid medical procedure. It is most commonly used today for the treatment of chronic pain, as well as being utilized in helping people quit smoking, lose weight, and deal with psychological issues.
Well, you can see that even in ancient times, there were public uses of hypnosis. The religious ceremonies of many people, from the Egyptians to the Native Americans, used methods that would induce trance like states. Until the reputation of hypnotism was compromised by numerous fakes employing crude routines and paid stooges.
As movies became more popular during the early 1900′s, Hypnotism found its way into the theaters. Trilby appeared as a movie in 1914. Magicians started incorporating hypnosis into performances with stunts such as Amnesia: causing volunteers to forget names, numbers, etc. and Hallucinations: convincing the subject that they are seeing or hearing things that they are not.
The 1952 Stage Hypnosis Act, governs what hypnotists performing on the stage can do, to keep participants as safe as possible. A license must be sought before each public performance, with the show being monitored by a local council official. It is very crucial to remember that even while hypnotized, your subconscious mind will still not allow you to do anything that you would normally absolutely not do.
There is something magical about hypnotism, some part of most of people that likes the idea of being able to completely control the actions of another person.
