Stress can lead to a myriad of health issues. There are physical complications such as heart disease. Stress is also suggested to be an asthma trigger. For the mental, stress can lead to fearing the unknown stressors of the next workday. Stress is the area of the beanstalk just above the earth. You lose parts of your health and sanity as they climb that beanstalk. What do you do?
What you need to do is relaxing. There are a lot of ways to relax. As far as relaxation goes, yoga and meditation is by far the most popular choice. You can’t really blame them, looking at a meditating yogi can make you envious with how peaceful they look. And there is one relaxation practice similar to meditating – It’s called hypnosis.
Hypnosis relaxation methods include self-hypnosis, and one wherein the patient works with a hypnosis therapist. Self-hypnosis is a very useful stress management technique as it puts you in a relaxed state. The trance-like state is similar to meditation, only that it makes you more willing to follow suggestions. These affirmations ensure a more positive state of mind when you are out of that trance. For instance, while you are under hypnosis, you are told that you are not a failure in the office as you previously believed. When you “wake up”, you feel better about yourself.
Self-hypnosis requires you to put yourself in the hypnotic trance while you say those affirmations to yourself. If you don’t find it productive, seek out psychotherapists that specialize in hypnotherapy. Also, hypnosis will not work in mentally disabled people.
