NLP Anchoring is achieved when reactions, memories, and other actions become involuntary whenever the subject is exposed to the anchored object. It can help a person automatically feel happy when they are depressed, be motivated when they are starting to doubt their abilities, and even feel better when they are starting to exhibit psychosomatic illnesses.

NLP teaches us that the first step in anchoring method is by putting ourselves in a specific state of mind that we would want to remember in the future. We should try to focus on that state of being intently and try to relive past experiences associated with the behavior of emotions we would like to evoke. He or she then builds a vivid mental picture of that experience, including the feelings, sounds and smell present during that experience.

The anchor is created by associating the emotion with one of the senses or even a combination of the senses. The one that is most likely to leave a very strong impact is an anchor that is felt by touch.

The anchor creation is abruptly ended once the anchor is successfully created. Then simply repeat the whole process and after a few repetitions the state will have been anchored into you. A person’s state of being completely changes into the linked state of being of the anchor every time the anchor is activated in the future.

Concentration and focus are the hardest parts in the whole anchoring technique as this is the key to the whole process. There is no way to make anchoring a success if the person cannot immerse him or herself completely to the process. The brain is a muscle that needs to be trained and worked on, and NLP is the method to do it.
